Got same type e-mail dated 1/4/13, using exact same wording. Smelled rat when download was an application, so did not download. Checked FedEx tracking and numbers were phony.
ReplyDeleteI got the same type of email as above. I thought it may have been a scam but because I was due a book that hasn't arrived I thought it may have been genuine. There was no such tracking number at Fedex. Fortunately, where it says DOWNLOAD POSTAL RECEIPT, I couldn't open it. I'm still trying to find my book.
ReplyDeleteGot the same one on the 13th:

I received exactly the same one and it went to my junk mail. I was expecting a parcel and thought this might be the one. Good thing I googled.
ReplyDeleteReceived a couple. Told one of them where they can shove the email. Also reported the email.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the name of the trojan/virus attached to the email?
ReplyDeleteMy wife clicked on the link.
My sister got one today. Said Fed Ex and Priority Mail Service and had a tracking number. She rang me and told her to delete it and not to open the attachment
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for participating in this! More we know the safer we are from spam!
ReplyDeleteI receive one of these almost daily. It's really starting to piss me off and I had to make a mail rule to delete them immediately.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of money spent checking/deleting spam messages costs businesses MILLIONS of dollars. Why isn't spamming considered a serious crime when they basically are stealing a great deal of time and money away from everyone?
Got one today that had priority mail on the top sent from
ReplyDelete(Priority mail is used by the US postal service {USPS}
NOT UPS or Fed Ex.
The tip off was to print out the FED EX reciept and take to their store. The Fed Ex team is NOT a part of the USPS!
I received the following but didn't open it even though we were expecting a delivery with which we had already had problems, as the English was so weird and it wasn't coming from where we expected:-
ReplyDeletePostal notification,
Our companys courier could not deliver your parcel.

Got one today, had a couple before. What I don't understand is why they try this scam. I mean if you haven't ordered any parcels why should you pick it up? Even the worst idiot should know something fishy is going on.
ReplyDeleteNot thinking, I clicked on the 'print label' thing and it went to a "this website can't be accessed" type of message. What do you think might happen? I was on my iPad.
